Long Term Planning Overview 

Nursery 

Our Nursery children follow the Master the Curriculum approach for maths, which helps them develop a strong foundation in early mathematical understanding. Through practical activities, exploration and play, children build confidence with numbers, patterns and problem-solving in a fun and engaging way.

From summer 2026, our Nursery children will begin their Maths Champions journey.
Maths Champions is a fun, play-based approach that builds early number, shape, and problem-solving skills through everyday experiences. More details will follow soon.

Reception 

Our Reception children follow the Mastering Number curriculum alongside Calendar Maths, building strong foundations in number and daily mathematical thinking. Throughout the year, they also explore shape and spatial reasoning, helping them develop a well-rounded understanding of maths.

KS1 and KS2 

In Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, we follow the Oak Academy maths curriculum, which provides a clear, structured approach to teaching maths. This supports children in building strong knowledge, developing fluency, and applying their reasoning and problem-solving skills with confidence.
