Monday 26th June 2017 - Gold Kite Mark

We are very pleased to announce that for the second consecutive year, our school has achieved the Gold School Games Mark Award for commitment, engagement and delivery of PE and sport for 2016/2017.

Well done to the PE team and all pupils on this fantastic achievement.

 

 

Black Country School Games Change 4 Life Festival - Friday 23rd June 2017

 

 

Well done to all of the children from Year Two, Three and Four who attended a Change 4 Life Festival at the Black Country School Games. The event was held at The University of Wolverhampton on Friday 23rd June 2017. All of the children and staff had a fantastic day and took part in a variety of activities including; soft archery, boxercise and soft fencing.

  

 

Year Five and Six Sports Day - Wednesday 24th May 2017 

Well done to all of the children in Year Five and Six for competing in this years sports day. The children took part in five activities including; basketball, dodgeball, soft archery, obstacle races and tug of war. The afternoon was highly competitive, but in the end St. Patricks came out on top with a total of 285 points. St. Davids finished in second place with 257 points. St Andrews finished in third place with 225 points and St. Georges finished in fourth place with 218 points. A big thank you to all of the staff and KS2 team leaders who helped to plan, organise and run the event. A final thank you to the parents and carers who came to support their children and the school. Some of them even took part in a tug of war; third time lucky, the staff finally managed to become victorious!

Year Three and Four Sports Day -Wednesday 24th May 2017 

Well done to all of the children in Year Three and Four for competing in this years sports day. The children took part in five activities including; basketball, dodgeball, agility challenges, obstacle races and tug of war. The morning was highly competitive, but in the end St. Andrews came out on top with a total of 225 points. St. Davids finished in second place with 195 points. St Georges finished in third place with 180 points and St. Patricks finished in fourth place with 164 points. A big thank you to all of the staff and KS2 team leaders who helped to plan, organise and run the event. A final thank you to the parents and carers who came to support their children and the school. Some of them even took part in a tug of war and beat the staff...again!

KS1 Sports Day - Tuesday 23rd May 2017 

Well done to all of the children in Year One and Two for competing in this years sports day. The children took part in five activities including; basketball, dodgeball, agility challenges, obstacle races and tug of war. The morning was highly competitive, but in the end St. Andrews came out on top with a total of 158 points. St. Patricks finished in second place with 154 points. St Georges finished in third place with 146 points and St. Davids finished in fourth place with 128 points. A big thank you to all of the staff and KS2 team leaders who helped to plan, organise and run the event. A final thank you to the parents and carers who came to support their children and the school. Some of them even took part in a tug of war and beat the staff!

Year Six Visit Woodlands Activity Centre - Wednesday 17th May 2017 and Thursday 18th May 2017

Well done to all of the children in Year Six who visited Woodlands Activity Centre on Wednesday 17th May 2017 and Thursday 18th May 2017. The children took part in a range of outdoor activities. A very wet but enjoyable day one included; climbing, abseiling, assault course and zip lining. Day two consisted of; canoeing, raft building, archery, ropes and vines. The children thoroughly enjoyed their challenges and worked hard to help each other overcome their fears. 

Year Five Visit Woodlands Activity Centre - Tuesday 9th May 2017

Well done to all of the children in Year Five who visited Woodlands Activity Centre on Tuesday 9th May 2017. The children took part in a range of outdoor activities including; canoeing, climbing, abseiling, ropes and vines. The children thoroughly enjoyed their challenges and worked hard to support each other throughout the day.

 

Agility Challenge - Thursday 27th April 2017

Well done to the children from Year Three and Four who participated in an agility challenge at Willenhall Academy on Thursday 27th April. The children competed in a variety of activities including; shuttle runs, target throwing and speed bounce.

Tug of War Day - Wednesday 26th April 2017

The children were treated to a fun-filled Tug of War day. Each class participated in a Tug of War competition in their house groups. The children were fantastic and some classes even managed to beat the staff! 

Multi-Skills - Tuesday 4th April 2017

Well done to the children from Year One and Two who competed in a Multi-Skills competition at Willenhall Academy on Tuesday 4th April 2017. The children took part in a range of activities including; bean bag balancing, agility run and speed bounce.

Tag Rugby - Thursday 16th March 2017

Well done to the children from Year Five and Six who competed in a Tag Rugby competition on Thursday 16th March at Willenhall Academy. The children played fantastic and scored some excellent tries. 

Football Quarter-Final - Wednesday 15th March 2017

Well done to the children from Year Six who represented our school in the Football Quarter-Final on Wednesday 15th March at Willenhall Academy. It was a close match and the children played with determination and passion. Unfortunately, we were beaten 2-0. However, reaching the Quarter-Final is a fantastic achievement. Well done to all involved.

Sports for Schools Day -Wednesday 1st March 2017

The children were treated to a visit from Team GB athlete and Olympic swimmer Amy Smith. Each class participated in a fitness circuit to raise money for our school. After that, the pupils attended an inspirational assembly, led by Amy Smith. It was a fantastic day and the children worked extremely hard. Well done to all involved!

 

Dodgeball - Walsall Finals - Thursday 16th February 2017

Well done to the children from Year Five who participated in the Walsall Finals Dodgeball competition at Shelfield Academy on Thursday 16th February. The children played with determination and passion which resulted in us finishing in third place. A fantastic achievement well done to all involved.

Football - Wednesday 25th January 2017

Well done to the children from Year Four, Five and Six who participated in our penultimate football fixtures of the season at Willenhall Academy on Wednesday 25th January 2017. Both Teams A and B played with excellent team work and behaviour was fantastic as always.

 

 

SMILE Multi-Skills - Monday 23rd January 2017

Well done to the children from Year One and Two who attended a SMILE Multi-Skills activity day at Tipton Sports Academy on Monday 23rd January 2017. The children took part in a range of activities such as; balance games, agility assault courses and target games. As always, the children we very well behaved and they thoroughly enjoyed the day.

 

 

Dodgeball - Tuesday 17th January 2017

Tuesday was our first competition of 2017. We took two teams to compete in a Dodgeball competition at Willenhall Academy. Both teams played with fierce determination and passion. Team B finished in third place in their league while Team A finished in second place. Team A went on to beat Reedswood in the semi-final to set up a final with Bentley West. After a close game, Bentley West came out on top meaning we finished runners up. However, as we finished in the top two, we are now through to the Walsall Finals! A fantastic achievement for all involved. 

 

Football - Tuesday 13th December 2016

Tuesday saw our football teams play their final fixtures of 2016. The children played with passion and determination. As a result, they came out on top beating King Charles 2-0. Well done to all of the children who took part.

 

Skipping - Tuesday 29th November 2016

Well done to the children from Year Three and Four who participated in a skipping competition at Willenhall Academy on Tuesday 29th November. We had three teams representing our school and the children took part in a circuit of skipping skills. They had 30 seconds to attempt each skill and score as many points as possible for their team. All of the children worked extremely hard and their attitude was fantastic. Our red team scored a fantastic 1612 points and finished in third place. Our blue team scored 1530 points and finished in fifth place and our yellow team scored 1240 points and finished in seventh place. Football - Wednesday 23rd November 2016

Wednesday saw our football teams play their second fixture of the season. The children played with passion and determination and the match finished 1-1. Well done to all of the children who took part.

 

Year 5 and 6 Sports Hall Athletics Competition - Tuesday 22nd November 2016

Well done to the children from Year Five and Six who participated in a sports hall athletics competition on Tuesday 22nd November at Willenhall Academy. The children took part in track and field events and worked extremely hard to score as many points as possible. As a result of their hard work, we finished in third place!  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Skipping Day - Thursday 17th November 2016

The children were treated to a visit from Beci Dale who is a member of Jump Rope UK. Beci has represented the UK in competitions all over the world including the British Championships, European Championships and World Championships. Each year group had the opportunity to learn some new skipping skills before watching a fantastic demonstration from Beci. Thank you to all of the children for their fantastic efforts on the day. A big thank you must also go to Beci and everyone at Jump Rope UK for helping to organise such an inspiring day.

 

 Sports Leader Training - Friday 30th September 2016

Children from Year Five and Six were asked to apply for a position as a Sports Leader. If successful, their role would be to organise and run activities on the playground one lunchtime a week. On Friday 30th September the successful applicants received training from the sports team to enable them to lead games and activities. All of the children were enthusiastic about their new role and they are looking forward to starting their journey as a Sports Leader.

 

Wednesday 2nd November 2016

Well done to the children from year 4, 5 and 6 who participated in our first football fixtures of the season at Willenhall Academy on Wednesday 2nd November. Both Teams A and B played with excellent team work and behaviour was fantastic as always.

 Saturday 15th October 2016

A group of children from year 5 and 6 were chosen to attend a football match at Walsall Football Club. The children were treated to a football session from a coach at Walsall FC before entering the stadium to watch Walsall play Shrewsbury FC. The children enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining game which saw Walsall score an 85th minute goal to win 3-2.

As always, the children were extremely well behaved. A big thank you to all staff who helped organise the trip. A big thank you must also go to Walsall FC for a fantastic day.​

  

Hi 5 Netball Wednesday 5th October 2016

Well done to the children from Year Five and Six who participated in a Netball Competition at Willenhall E-ACT Academy on Wednesday 5th October. All of the children played extremely well and represented our school in a fantastic manner as always!


 

Paralympic Day 2016 - Thursday 22nd September 2016

To celebrate the success of Team GB at Rio 2016,​ the children participated in a variety of paralympic activities and sports. Year One took part in visually impaired races, Year Two attempted visually impaired penalties, Year Three participated in a visually impaired obstacle course and Year Four, Five and Six played Sitting Volleyball. All children participated fully​ and thoroughly enjoyed taking part.
